September Vintage Threads

Hoping to see everyone at Vintage Threads Manchester tomorrow where you can pick up lots of vintage treats, from handmade cards to vintage furs. The weather has turned (boo) but this is a great opportunity to cheer yourself up with a bit of retail therapy and to start picking up some bits for your winter wardrobe.

Where: The Circle Club, just off St.Anns Square by Barton Arcade in Manchester city centre.

When: Saturday the 3rd from 12-5.30p.m.

The Atmosphere: Relaxed and fun. All the stall owners are more than happy to help and there is always some good tunage playing in the background.

What to expect: Loads and loads of affordable vintage clothing and accessories for men and women (see pictures below), handmade items and occasionally a few nic-nacs for around the house. There is something for every budget from earrings starting at a couple of pounds to Belstaff jackets for a little bit more. One thing you can be sure of is that everything is great value.

Sixties Hair

Most of the most influential and copied hairstyles have come from the sixties. They managed to mix chick and feminine with quirky and get it just right and Mr Vidal Sasson was in his element. Here are some of our favourite! We are printing out the pictures and booking our appointments.

Edie Sedgwick

Twiggy

Penelope Tree

Mia Farrow (Having her hair cut by Vidal Sasson for Rosemarys Baby)

Mary Quant (Vidal Sasson invented this iconic style)

Brigitte Bardot (the original beehive)

Detailing

DETAILING
The best thing about vintage shopping in Manchester is what great value it is. Items at Vintage Threads start at a few pounds. Lace and sequin items that would cost a fortune in London are about £40/£50 at the fair so those of us with a small budget can look fabulous too.
