Glastonbury Style

A lot of our Vintage Threads fans will be at Glastonbury this weekend. We are wondering what they'll be wearing in this weather? I am thinking a small tea dress, hunter wellies and waterproof poncho for the girls. It's more difficult for the boys, nothing is worse than a damp pair of jeans. Will they be wearing their barbour coats? I hope not as it is likely that they will get ruined in that mud! Here are some of our favourite Glastonbury style icons. I think Kate Moss' high heels are a trend only possible for a VIP.

Make A House A Home

Most flats in Manchester are top to bottom Ikea, with a little bit of Next thrown in if you're lucky. One of my favourite things to do at Vintage Threads fairs is to search through all the random quirky home stalls and find little bits and bobs that will make my front room feel a little bit more personal. There are so many random, weird and wonderful things to choose from, little pictures, lampshades, sofas, paintings... The most popular being the cups and saucers sets - afternoon tea is so in right now!

Take That Hit Manchester

Take That are spending almost a week of their tour in Manchester. The city has gone wild, there are screaming ladies everywhere!
We looked back at their original style. The Never Forget video really shows that they have got better with age... Thank goodness, who was their stylist back then?

1970's Zandra Rhodes

This Summer everyone is going wild for the 70's trend. It has become acceptable to wear big flares, bright colours and over the top print. Zandra Rhodes is one of the best loved designers from the 70's era and Manchester born designer Matthew Williamson interned with her as he shared her passion for print and colour. Her designs graced the cover of Vogue and definitely remind us what sort of dresses we should be searching for at Vintage Threads.
