We love the 80's!

It was all about tackiness, bright colours and ridiculous hair-do's. Eighties fashion was so wrong it was right. Here are some of our favourite 80's style icons!

Style Icon: Alexa Chung

She is the face on the front cover of the current issue of British Vogue and the Mulberry bag that is named after her continues to be a best seller. Alexa loves vintage and at Vintage Threads we love Alexa. She wears denim cut offs and breton stripes just as well as she wears vintage shift dresses and evening-wear. A current style icon and great inspiration for our shoppers.

Simple Chic and gorgeous. We love Jean Seberg's style. Breton tops, loafers, capes and cute hats - some of our favourite things!

Studio 54 Style

The dance floor was always covered in stylish it-girls, actors, actresses, designers and artists. Never has there been a place like Studio 54 for bringing together the most stylish of celebrities. We are envious that we weren't there at the time but it is fabulous to be able to look through the old photos to get some styling ideas for our Vintage Threads purchases. Everyone was just so much cooler back then!

Spring/Summer Trend; Bananas

Unsurprisingly everyone has gone bananas for bananas this summer. Miuccia Prada showed them in her spring/summer Prada collection and as per usual with Prada, the look caught on. At Vintage Threads we also love the style of the 1980's band Banarama...although we're not sure we should admit to it. We do love breton stripes, head scarves and dungarees when worn well. Mix their style with a bit of banana print and you may be onto a winning look.
