Style Icon: Marianne Faithfull

Vintage Threads is always packed full of items from the 60's; fur coats, big sunglasses, mini skirts… So, who better to be our style icon of the week than Marianne Faithfull whose carefree bohemian style captured the fashion zeitgeist of the 60's.

She is best known for her rock chick image, made famous in 1964 during the filming of ‘Girl on a Motorcycle’ in which her character wore head to toe leather. When she later dated Rolling Stone Mick Jagger her personal style adapted, changing from ‘prim and proper’ to ‘bohemian meets rock’ . Her style became a female version of his, it was sexy and a little outlandish. She dressed as if she had just grabbed a random selection of clothes and thrown them on - but somehow it worked.

With furs and leather being hugely on trend this winter, we are definitely going to channel her style this season. We're just glad we'll be able to get our hands on some original 60's bits at our christmas market.

  1. I love her style, how much do you want to just invite yourself round for tea and raid her closet?
